Met een beetje weemoed en veel gelukzaligheid kijk ik terug op mijn trip naar Minnesota. Er gaat geen dag voorbij of ik denk er wel aan op een willekeurig moment. Wat is het dat het zo speciaal maakte? Jim Brandenburg is een geweldige inspirator en denker. Lees het boek 'Brother wolf' en je weet waar ik het over heb. Maar ook het samenzijn met mensen van verschillende pluimage die hun passie voor fotografie en liefde voor de natuur delen. Wat me ook bijzonder geraakt heeft is de wildernis van het Superior National Forest. Ik zou het bijna het 'Spiritual National Forest' willen noemen. Hier heb ik de echte wildernis kunnen ervaren en ben ik me wederom bewust geworden van onze plek op deze aarde...Om met Jim's woorden te spreken 'Everything in nature has a spirit.....'

With a little melancholy and lots of happiness I look back at my trip to Minnesota. There is not a day passing without me thinking of it. What is it that made it special? Jim Brandenburg is a great inspiration and a great thinker. Read his book 'Brother wolf' and you will see. But it's also the gathering of different people sharing their passion for photography and love for nature. What has really struck me as is the wilderness of the Superior National Forest. I would name it 'Spritual National Forest'. Here, I have witnessed true wilderness and I have become aware once again of our place on earth...To speak with Jim's words 'Everything in nature has a spirit.....'
