Hoewel ik meer met de herfst heb dan met de lente, is het toch lekker als het weer groen wordt, de bloemen beginnen te ontluiken en het gezoem van insecten klinkt. Wat is er dan beter om naar Zuid-Limburg te gaan, waar de lente net iets eerder begint en bovendien de bosflora uitbundiger is dan elders? Het was weer een genot om rond te lopen in de hellingbossen met bosanemonen, sleutelbloemen en tal van andere soorten. En dat terwijl boven me de kortsnavelboomkruipers en middelste bonte spechten zich lieten horen. Net als vorig jaar was het Bunderbos het meest spectaculair, wat een weelde. Het is moeilijk te vatten in één beeld, maar ik besloot het terug te brengen in het ontspruiten van een eenbes, met de bloem nog in de knop. Teken van een mooie voorjaarsbelofte.

Although I have more affection with autumn than with spring, it is a pleasure when nature turns green, flowers sprout and the buzzing of the insects sounds. What is a better idea than to go to the south of Limburg, where spring starts a little earlier and moreover, the forest flowers are more spectacular than anywhere else? It was a treat to walk in the valley forests with wood anemone, oxlip and many other species. In the trees longtoed treecreeper and middle spotted woodpecker where calling. Like last year, most spectacular was the Bunderbos, what a wealth. It is difficult to capture its beauty in one image, and I decided to let it come together in an image of the Herb Paris, with its flower still in the bud. The sign of a beautiful promise of springtime.
